The conference was a three-day event that took place from November 12-14 and was organized by the Institute for the Advancement of Behavioral Healthcare, the leading media and events producer in the behavioral healthcare field. It was an opportunity for thought leaders, clinicians, prevention advocates and all other stakeholders in the fight against the United States drug addiction epidemic to exchange insights, learn about new treatment approaches and connect through a mutual will to curb substance use disorder and chemical dependency. While helping to spread the Recovery Unplugged message of music-based addiction treatment, our very own outreach representative Russell Levine had the opportunity to speak with the Director of the United States Office of National Drug Control Policy James Carroll. Carroll also served as Deputy White House Chief of Staff under President Trump and President George W. Bush. CARMAHealth and Recovery Unplugged were delighted for the chance to tell Director Carroll about the Recovery Unplugged treatment model, how we use music as an emotional catalyst to connect with clients during the rehab process, and music’s overall role in long-term recovery and everyday life. As addiction care innovators and dedicated treatment providers, CARMAHealth and Recovery Unplugged are always grateful for the opportunity to tell influencers, decision-makers and thought leaders about our evidence-based treatment model and our inspiring success rates.
