## Psychiatry Rooted in Purpose

Dr. Carlos Tirado brings over two decades of expertise in psychiatry, addiction medicine, and integrated behavioral health care. After a successful early career in academia, Dr. Tirado transitioned to the private sector to translate clinical science and best practices to the real world, and leads a clinical team of 26+ practitioners in Texas and Florida.

He founded CARMAhealth in 2017 after observing a critical gap in patient care: individuals completing treatment programs often struggled to find qualified practitioners for ongoing, community-based psychiatric support. CARMAhealth was his answer to that challenge.

Dr. Tirado's approach is non-judgmental and collaborative, grounded in evidence-based practices including cognitive behavioral therapy and motivational interviewing. As an Associate Professor of Practice at [University of Texas College of Pharmacy](https://pharmacy.utexas.edu/), he bridges academic research and real-world patient outcomes. He is fluent in English and Spanish.
