Dr. Jennifer Schaefer is a triple board-certified psychiatrist with specialized expertise in child, adolescent, and adult mental health. She earned her medical degree from the [University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio](https://www.uthscsa.edu/) and completed both her psychiatry residency and child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship at [UT Dell Medical School](https://dellmed.utexas.edu/units/department-of-psychiatry) in Austin, where she served as Chief Resident.

Her clinical approach is compassionate, thoughtful, and grounded in evidence. She works collaboratively with patients and their families, combining medication management with therapeutic interventions including cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic psychotherapy, play therapy, and motivational interviewing.

Dr. Schaefer evaluates and treats a wide range of conditions across all age groups, including major depression, bipolar disorder, PTSD, anxiety disorders, ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, and substance use disorders. Her philosophy centers on helping patients develop hope, discover meaning, and become empowered in their recovery.
