## Where Neuroscience Meets Recovery

Dr. Robert Ulrich brings a distinctive perspective to addiction medicine, informed by more than two decades of clinical neurology practice. Board-certified in neurology by the [American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology](https://www.abpn.com/), he completed his neurology residency at [UT Southwestern Medical Center](https://www.utsouthwestern.edu/) in Dallas, where he served as Chief Resident.

After 20+ years in neurology, Dr. Ulrich recognized that many patients with neurological conditions also struggled with substance use disorders. In late 2022, he made a deliberate shift to focus his practice on addiction medicine, bringing a deep understanding of brain function and neurochemistry to the treatment of substance use disorders.

At CARMAhealth, Dr. Ulrich combines his neurology background with addiction medicine expertise to provide a uniquely informed approach to patient care. His knowledge of the central nervous system allows him to develop treatment plans that address both the neurological and behavioral components of recovery.
