## Trauma-Informed Care Built on Real-World Experience

Samantha Hurlbut is a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who brings a depth of clinical experience to every patient interaction. Before joining CARMAhealth, she spent five years providing case management services to individuals with persistent mental illness and survivors of family violence and sexual assault.

That frontline work shaped her approach to care. Samantha also served as a Registered Nurse in psychiatric hospital settings and partial hospitalization programs, building expertise in acute stabilization and ongoing behavioral health support.

She earned her Master of Science in Nursing from the [University of Texas](https://nursing.utexas.edu/) with a focus in Advanced Practice Psychiatric Nursing, and holds a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the [University of Houston](https://www.uh.edu/class/psychology/). She is certified by the [American Nurses Credentialing Center](https://www.nursingworld.org/our-certifications/psychiatric-mental-health-nurse-practitioner/) as a PMHNP-BC.
