## Whole-Person Care That Treats the Root Cause

Susan Gonzales is a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner, certified through the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). She graduated from [The University of Texas Medical Branch](https://www.utmb.edu/) and is dedicated to providing compassionate, patient-centered care through a holistic approach to health and wellness. She believes in treating the whole person's mind, body, and lifestyle, while focusing on identifying the root cause of illness rather than simply managing symptoms.

Before becoming a Family Nurse Practitioner, Susan spent eight years working as a Registered Nurse in mental health and [addiction medicine](/services/medication-assisted-treatment) throughout the Austin area. Her experience supporting patients through complex behavioral health and substance use challenges gave her a deep understanding of the connection between physical and mental well-being, and shaped the compassionate, nonjudgmental approach she brings to every patient interaction.

Susan is passionate about helping patients feel heard, supported, and empowered in their healthcare journey. She combines evidence-based medicine with individualized wellness strategies to help patients achieve long-term, sustainable health outcomes and improve their overall quality of life.
